Memorial Day / Decoration Day for you Civil War Vets out there 02:48 PM
In early May of this year my father would have been 119. Passed away long ago in his late 70s. One of my favorite memories was when the Right Wing became NAZI curious ala Blues Brother's Movie era. Some of those knuckle heads set up a little podium in a park I was playing tennis in. My friends and I went over and mocked them mercilessly until they went away. Although they tried their typical intimidation cosplay, even the Chicago Police didn't have much use for these miscreants then. Eventually they went back to the rock they crawled out from under. I told my dad, a WWII vet, when I went home and all he said was, " I wish I knew. I'd have got my gun and shot them."
It's quite the travail
To hack through the wilderness
With all this baggage
Watch it develop
Snapshot taken of my soul
Shows where I have been
It's in the dosage

Recalled for Memorial Day
Eighty years ago
yesterday, my father paid
a surprise visit
To Normandy's shores.
Took no selfies. Stayed awhile.
Came back. Told no tales.
things that dwell in me
are fine, things that lurk within
are what troubles me
Not joined at the hip.
Tickle my seclusion would
describe her visits.
It could be said that
Don, the ne'er-do-well narwhal
was long in the tooth
now to become a
fully imagined human
instance by using
scrolling data and shifting
curves the good old fashioned way
My very first toot:
Oh, you mean that time. Not to be confused with this time, out of time, Miller Time, or Hammer Time. Not to mention Morris Day and The Time.
It was a different time
So excuse me while I take this time to do the ramble. I miss the arbitrary reckoning of big hand is here and the little hand is there; as opposed to the empiricism of the digital display. Or the solidity of everything happening everywhere all at once hypothesis. Times arrow. Time slip. How many times has this happened before. Déjà-vu all over. So many hypotheses, so little time. Or too much time? Time is what you make of it. If you spend that much time counting, or making time, it may leave too little time for anything else.

Forget it!
But there is always time for Pink. But which one is Pink this time.
Time for me to give my brain a time out.
P.S. as a child my mother would talk about punching out of work. I imagined a first fight everyday at the time clock to leave the factory. 🕓
