The Daily Dread

I quit quitting quite
a quotidian practice
quietly qualm free

don't waste your warm breath
to revive a cold dead carp
rotting in the bank

we're going out of business
while selling us his funny business
just like nobody's business

time to quit when the
warm breath of a cold carp chills
a fishy business

Early existentialist influence
Out in the schoolyard
During recess
The school bell in error
Would ring intermittently
The monitors told us to ignore it
So many of us climbed the fence
Hung on it
Shook it
Shouting
"Ain't got no meaning! "
