The Daily Dread

Take a peek at the beak to tell a crow from a raven forevermore

It's Monday morning
So time to get your crow on
My fine haiku peeps

🐦‍⬛

fresh wind is welcome
under the blankets after
night chill hot air fill

be careful with whom
you #associate with in
waxing fascist times

Chill of a night kill
Watch Associate eat crow
Wash it down with bile

we were magical
things when held in each others
fierce fiery gaze

We rolled in the mud
Then we rolled in the clover
Fun wash once over

once reached for the stars
now only low hanging fruit
culture warfare fare
divide to conquer current
collapsing constellation

another day to
inflict my predilection
for snark on the world

a sudden bout of
boisterous behavior ends
a long-term friendship

Talking head pungent
Sold this President
Smile indecent
Bought by Pepsodent
Current resident
Not a proper gent
Everywhere he went
His welcome was spent
With loud vile vent
With no precedent
Opinions for rent
For ratings percent

Zero
The numerical expression
Of the answer to the question:
"Can absence be present
And nothingness exist?"

Contrarian stand
Refuse to rotate my tires
I'll die on that hill

If you scooch over
I'll rotate just a little
We'll have something there

I know where to go
When feeling parched and lonely
Next morning more so

A librarian
Can be most contrarian
Because they read books

Karmic justice will
gestate in it's own time

No need to push it
Karmic justice will gestate
Eventually

The Daily Dread

You were my first draft
Left glorious and unscathed
That was our #moment
Then the real world rushed in
Forcing revisions on us

Before it's too late
Send for ale and fresh horses
Siege necessities

plastic surgery
botox filler fakery
like peas in a pod

You became my poetry
Fortuitously or ill-fated
Left glorious and unscathed
You were only my first draft

The time it takes to
Send the moment to my brain
Seems to take longer

nothing more useless
than unasked for advice, won't
listen or follow

Profound formula
X-rays times Y-rays equal
Ludicrous thought rays

The Daily Dread

this ain't gunna be
no sprint, it's a cross country
long haul muddy slog

mosquitos plotting
no more cold night genocide
electro warfare
activate the larvae guard
bug zapper suicide charge

Each choice. Each moment.
Molds a moment of its own.
Shape-shifting streaming.

Picture of two monkeys glaring at each other with a grinning monkey in the background

Me about to make a bad situation worse by injecting some ill-timed humor
