Hesitation
The Vapors

What started as a run on sentence
Begat this unholy scat
things that used to make me blush
even while I was in such a rush
only then wanting them to hush
telling people to shush up
after reaching out to touch
trying to grasp a whole bunch
many hours before for lunch
until I heard that nasty crunch
a terrible accident as such
sent me reeling
without punctuation
on this river
of verbiage ramblation
unable to deliver with punch
so Ill fake it into cush
make it look like
planned adverse
while I sit here
on my tush

Today
Things on public display
That might or might not
Make us blush
Would probably have
Given our ancestors
The vapors
Real or feigned
Cards

Been living my life
One card shy of a full deck
Loving every deal
Had one up my sleeve
Bluff called before I could leave
Cuff usurped the sleight
Fifty two skiddoo
Had no clue what I should do
Cut the cards and flew

Seashells

Susan and Sally went to the seashore to a very popular seafood restaurant. Being fully paid up members in the ladies who lunch bunch of society, they settled in with cocktails for a nice long one.
Susan’s gaze locked with the stranger’s across the crowded restaurant, and she was suddenly overwhelmed by a powerful emotion. She did not know why the vision of this well appointed flâneur had stirred such deep body quivers and quakes within her. She felt a very strong compunction to go down to the beach and sell seashells at highly inflated prices to fulfill this strangers deepest need.
She had hoped he had designs on her. But truly, he only cared for himself. No more long lingering lunches for her. She was now a slave to the growing seashell economic bubble.
More shells. More better, was the watchword of the era. Even her one time friend Sally could not save her from herself or her shellfish desires.

Quaff

Imagine my surprise when what I thought would be a thoroughly excellent Wordle start word, “quafe” was not acceptable to the Wordle divinties. So I did a query and lo and behold it was not an acceptable English spelling. Apparently it is spelled “quaff”. An unquestionably awful starter word. Quite the quagmire I muttered to myself. So off I went on my daily quixotic quiz quest, with a quotient of quality alliteration and quanting ways. Most of which resulted in quenching my thirst for word quaking in a most satisfying way. (See solution below) Minor spoiler alert: Not a single Q was used in the solving of this quintessentially quirky quiz.

Stake Out

I thought I was done
Until I became undone
Who on earth does that
Stick a fork in me
Be gentle. Try not to hurt
I bleed out easy
Just flip me again
I can take it cause I'm tough
And getting tougher
Improperly seared
Becoming dry and chewy
Now a good shoe sole
