Putting Up Resistance
Making the world dirtier, meaner, and less safe
With every moment he soils that once prestigious office
Meanwhile
I couldn’t resist posting one of my favorite tunes for this prompt
Taking what life throws at me one pitch at a time
Making the world dirtier, meaner, and less safe
With every moment he soils that once prestigious office
Meanwhile
I couldn’t resist posting one of my favorite tunes for this prompt

I rummage about
In rubbish I've left behind
The frolics of yore
The many sheets from before
Bits and bytes of things to come
Stacks of melted wax
The mess of cassette formats
All shapes and sizes
Twentieth century discs
Magneto stuff lost in mists
All up in the cloud
Or that's what I have been told
Digital rummage
NFTs now will be sold
Just like the tulips of old
No lugging required
Paper trail's have long been trashed
Memories now stored
By our server overlords
Just one EMP away
Remember: A.I. thinks the word “memories” has four syllables. They are: me-m-o-ries. 🤣
A sorcery full of secrets
Full up to the brim
With milk of human malign
Or dandelion wine
Slopping over the rim
Whether to right a wrong
Or to wrong a right
Pick your assignment
Change the weather
Change the channel
Mumble a chant
Bang a gong
Sing a song
Even if you can't
Black cat moan
Depends on the saucer
Depends on the milk
Depends on the sorcerer
It's all in the spell
Drizzle Drazzle Druzzle Drome

Tone deaf
No rhythm
Left footed
Stumble bum
Dilettante
Hey That's Me !
In spite of all that, music has played an important part throughout my life.
Sure it was a church choir, garage band guitarist, high school, college, community productions. Musical theater singer, dancer, and actor in front of big and small crowds alike. I even got paid for a summer acting gig once. Not musical, but since I’m bragging. . .
What I did get paid for and quite well thank you was as a film, video, and digital editor. There I orchestrated numerous medlies of picture, voice, music, and sound effects many times over many years. If there is no music in the way the pictures flow before the eye and the dialog plays to the ear then it’s back to the cutting room.
See Ma, I didn’t waste my entire youth on trivial pursuits.
It also has taught me my most important skill.
I listen
I just love this performance and song 😍

Pix and trk
X marks the spot
Where two smackers met
Hear squawk box pop
Another X
On mag stripe stock
Line them up
Cut it quick
Splice it good
Rewind table spin
Crank for all you're worth
Split reel chatter
Spinning on the shaft
Four gang synchronizer clatter
Time to serve up hot
Dailies on the platter
Rushes always rush for
Client projection screening
Should reels misalign
There'll be lots of screaming
Assistant editor blame fodder
Becomes main subject of malign
It's called puttin' in your time
Once I had a guide
Lead me through perilous lands
Ill advised choices
Never there. Then went poof
Deserted and despondent
left brain talks to right
makes up stories to guide it
follows bad advice
from a wise and trusted guide
that was never there at all
Alternate timelines
Theory used to guide thousands
Thick plot twists feeding
Episodic syfy shows
Ad nauseam operas
She became my guide
To places and sensations
Once only dreamt of

echo the sound of
glove slap on history's cheek
dichotomy duel
No clue
Hey me too
But don't be blue
Join the crew
Haven't the foggiest
When we're the groggiest
Making life the shoddiest
Like a well meaning hobbyist
But
I know
What I know
Until I know
Something different
Do share
If you think you
Know different
Even seeming indifferent
More likely ambivalent
But I remain diffident
Spanning irreverent
To the irrelevant
Like the room elephant

The word(s) for today is(are) No Clue! We humans like to “know” things and to be right. I’m the first to agree, well, maybe not the first, that uncertainty is uncomfortable. I don’t even have a clue about the temperature outside. My phone says one thing, my actual thermometer says another thing, and the national […]
